Job Description

The role of a freelance subtitle specialist involves translating spoken dialogue into concise and readable subtitles while ensuring that the tone, context, and timing are preserved. You will work closely with our project managers to meet deadlines and maintain the quality of our services.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate spoken dialogue into subtitles while maintaining the original meaning and emotion.
• Adapt and edit subtitles to fit the allotted screen time without losing crucial information.
• Ensure grammatical correctness, consistency, and stylistic appropriateness in all subtitles.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to deliver projects on time.
• Utilize subtitling software and tools to create finalized subtitle files in various formats.
• Review and revise your work based on client feedback or team suggestions.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for candidates who are not only skilled in translation but also have a passion for storytelling. The ideal applicant should possess the following qualifications:

• A degree in linguistics, translation, communication, or a related field.
• Proven experience in subtitling, preferably in a freelance capacity.
• Strong command of at least two languages (native level proficiency in at least one language is preferred).
• Familiarity with subtitling software such as Aegisub, Subtitle Edit, or similar tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
