Key Responsibilities

As a Night Vet Nurse, you will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks, including but not limited to:

• Providing compassionate nursing care to hospitalized pets during evening and overnight hours.
• Monitoring patients’ vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with treatments as directed by veterinarians.
• Performing diagnostic tests and laboratory work as needed.
• Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring all treatments are documented properly.
• Communicating effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their pets’ conditions and answering any questions they may have.
• Assisting with the preparation and recovery of surgical patients.
• Staying prepared for emergencies, providing first aid, and assisting veterinarians in emergency procedures when necessary.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

• Certified veterinary nurse or equivalent qualification.
• Prior experience in a veterinary setting; experience in emergency care is a plus.
• Strong technical skills and proficiency in veterinary nursing practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions quickly, and remain calm under pressure.
• Availability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
